The next club competition was on 3rd August this was a drawn pairs, 32 members entered and they were divided into groups of first team and second team players, so when the draw took place a first team player would be drawn with a second team player. The two finalists were Stuart Gaw with Sue Wheatley against Janis Todman and Mike Shaw after a good entertaining game Stuart Gaw and Sue Wheatley came out victorious with a 21-20 win. There was also a consolation competition run alongside the main competition for the losers from the first round, the winners of this were Ben Neilson and Mike Coram who beat Gwyneth Jones and Daniel Sands 21-12 in the final. The next club competition was on 13th July this was a singles competition for the Presidents cup there were 19 members who entered, from the 19 members they were drawn out into four groups, these being one group of four and three groups of five, the winners and best runners up would go through to the next round this was the quarter finals it was decided that the quarter final, the semi-final and the final would be 12 ends, the losing semi-finalists were Pete and Daniel the final was played between Win and Clint, with Win coming out on top after 12 ends winning 15-4. Ken Mason Trophy
The second club competition of the season that was competed for was the Ken Mason Trophy, this was played on Sunday 14th June there were 17 members who entered the competition. With their being an odd number of entrants a preliminary game was played out to decide who would be through to the main competition,there was also a consolation run alongside the main competition if the participant was knocked out in the first round. Southport Day Out
The first club competition of the season was the Southport day out on Sunday 1st June, the men's and ladies merit were both competed for, there was a pair's consolation for the players who lost in the first round. The winner of the men's merit was Alan Hoy after beating John Dodd in the final, the two losing semi finalists were Clint Crowther and Bill Hanks. The winner of the Ladies merit was Win Thompson beating Liz Wilde in the final, the two losing semi finalists were Sylvia Goddard and Norah Cleary. The winners of the consolation pair's were June Crowther and Trudy Heavyside who beat Gordon Young and Norah Greenwood in the final.
